The 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the 2022 Stagecoach Festival will no longer require negative COVID-19 tests and vaccination proofs from its attendees.
The festivals are returning for the first time in a while since 2019, after being canceled due to the pandemic outbreak.
On Tuesday, Stagecoach tweeted its change of rules “In accordance with local guidelines”, as Coachella's Health and Safety page states that masks, tests or proofs are no longer needed.
Their websites note that “there is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place or place where people are present and there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19.”
As the festival’s dates were released, Coachella’s organizers carried out a mandatory vaccination policy that was changed two weeks later to allow people with negative COVID-19 tests. Goldenvoice, the festival organizer, welcomes hundreds of thousands of attendees.
The Coachella event shall happen for two weekends, April 15 to 17 and 22 to 24. On the other hand, Stagecoach is set on the following weekend, May 1.
Among the stars invited to Coachella, include Swedish House Mafia as the headline, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, and Caroline Polachek. For Stagecoach’s headline, Thomas Rhett, Crarrie Underwood, and Luke Combs.
