Kanye West has been barred from performing at the Grammy Awards for his “concerning online behavior,” West’s representative confirms to Variety.

West’s representative cited a report from the Blast on late Friday, claiming that the artist’s team received a phone call that night breaking the news that he had been “unfortunately” removed from the lineup due to his “concerning online behavior.”

West was not part of the first list of performers announced on Tuesday, but he may have been a considered performer. His representative sent a link to that story with a statement, “This is confirmed.” According to the Blast, “Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision.”

They shouldn’t be. A West performance on live television would pose a risk of him causing an unwanted publicity.

Based on West’s recent social media engagements alone, he might use this opportunity to continue his online harassment to Pete Davidson, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s new beau, he might lobby public sentiment for custody of his children, or make a statement in support of the accused sex offender Marilyn Manson or DaBaby, which both featured at his recent concerts.
