BTS member, Jungkook, has tested positive for COVID-19, six days before the group’s supposed performance scheduled at the Grammys 2022.
On March 29, HYBE announced the star’s positive result through Weverse. The entertainment company shared that Jungkook traveled to the United States on Sunday, March 27, in preparation for the Grammys. He was tested negative before departure, but started experiencing the symptoms arriving in Las Vegas.
He took a rapid test and a PCR test on Sunday afternoon, March 27, and was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the next day, Monday, March 28. Currently, he is on quarantine and has only been experiencing “a mild sore throat,” HYBE mentioned.
According to Yonhap News, Jungkook arrived alone in Las Vegas so he had no contact with the rest of the BTS members, who flew a day later.
Another BTS member, J-Hope, is currently self-isolating in South Korea after being tested positive for COVID-19 on March 24. HYBE also informed via Weverse that the singer has completed the three rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and has no serious symptoms other than a sore throat.
HYBE also assured that J-Hope would take part in activities scheduled for the next month once his treatment concludes.
The company wishes for both Jungkook and J-Hope’s speedy recovery.
