Thriller writer Jack Higgins best known for The Eagle dies at 92

Henry Patterson, known as Higgins, died at home in Jersey surrounded by his family, Harper Collins said in a statement.
Patterson published 85 books in his lifetime and was best known for his 1975 novel, the Eagle Has Landed, which sold more than 50 million copies.
The novel was later adapted into film in 1976 starring Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Donald Sutherland.
The book is about a fictional Nazi plot to kidnap Sir Winston Churchill during World War 2.
Other popular works of Patterson include Comes the Dark Stranger, Hell is Too Crowded and To Catch a King.
Patterson's last book The Midnight Bell in 2017 was a Sunday Times bestseller.
Harper Collins said that by the time his final book got released, they called him "The Legend".
Chief Executive Charlie Redmayne also said Patterson was a "classic thriller writer".
